About IPdailyupdate

IPdailyupdate is a news Wiki focussing on the topic of intellectual property. Although there are news blogs around, they tend to highlight news chosen by one person/organisation. A wiki will allow news to be posted by lots of different people from different organisations and fields within IP.

All viewers of the site have the opportunity to add to the site or amend current entries - the hope being that enough people will add relevant news and information to make the site useful for all IP practitioners.

The content of the site will reflect the particular interests of its users, so the more people who use it, the wider the scope of the site wil be. At the moment, it does lean towards regulation, legislation and case law from a UK/EU perspective, but that can easily change if the users want it to.

To allow for ease of use and clarity, the news for each day is divided into categories and each story is prefaced with the country/jurisdiction for which it is most relevant. Where possible a link to the original story should also be provided.

All users are encouraged to add stories to the site, so please feel free to do so as long as you think they might be of interest to others in the field of IP. Entries might be edited to ensure consistency and amend any mistakes, but generally will not be removed unless they are offensive, inappropriate, advertising commercial services or infringe copyright. In other words: all genuine contributions are welcome.

Only pages that are of particular administrative importance (like this one) will be locked.

IPdailyupdate has no formal links with any law firm or other commercial, academic or governmental organisation. It is a non-commercial site set up by an IP Librarian who has a slightly geeky interest in both IP and information/knowledge management issues.
